COMMANDER'S MESSAGE

Our Standards Committee had a good productive weekend in Burlington. We began a process that will set new minimum standards for an organization to function as a Rescue Provider. We will closely review all of these proposals to insure that the most qualified and capable provider is chosen to deliver the service to the citizens of North Carolina. As we progress, we will be providing additional information. If you have questions now, call our office.

As summer approaches, remember our vehicles and equipment. In order to function properly in this heat, our equipment must be maintained in top notch condition. This includes batteries, alternators and air conditioners. Be sure to service and maintain your equipment regularly.

Hopefully, everyone has made arrangements for Convention 98' in Winston-Salem this year. Time is drawing near. Register your competition teams and send in your information for the various awards and memorial service. See ya there! And as always, thank you for the service that you provide to so many.

VICE-COMMANDER'S MESSAGE

Have you checked to see how many of your members belong to the Brotherhood? The Association has over 16,500 members, but we only have less than one-third in the Brotherhood. Why don't we have more members in the Brotherhood? Maybe, it is because we as leaders do not inform our members about the benefit of belonging to the Brotherhood. Maybe, because it cost $1.00 each time we have an assessment, or maybe we don't think that we will ever need the benefits that being a member of the Brotherhood will give us. A lot of maybes............

If you are a member, work toward telling someone else about the benefits of being a member of the Association. If each member would sign up just one new member, then we would be on our way to reaching fifty-percent of our membership. Please try. Tell another member about the Brotherhood.
