COMMANDER'S MESSAGE
We are continuing to receive calls from squads/departments who are members of the Association informing us that a member has been either injured, passed away or suffered damage to real property. In each case, the Association has a benefit that would assist the member or dependents. The staff at the offices does an excellent job in researching our rosters, which you have filed, to see if the member is eligible to receive the benefits. The Association cannot assist or provide any benefits to the members if they are not on the roster. It is the most important document that you can have on file in your squad/department. Each chief or captain should check their rosters each month to make sure that a member is not left off. You can fax, go on line, e-mail or just mail the name of the member to the Association office.
Please check to see if your members are members of the Benevolent Brotherhood. If we can obtain 300 new members, thirty (30) per Area, we can increase the proceeds from $4,500.00 to $5,000.00. Something to think about.
VICE-COMMANDER'S MESSAGE
Benefits.....your Association has many for you. Scholarships.....330 currently being paid to members and children of members.
If you as a member of a rescue squad are injured either on a call or squad function or not on a call. The Relief Fund may have some monetary assistance for you. The Association is constantly striving to increase funds to you or provide assistance in some form or another. The officers and board members are very busy in trying to keep all current benefits active in the midst of some serious funding cuts from the State. There is still one benefit that remains up to you. The Brotherhood. Join now.
