    COMMANDER'S MESSAGE

The State Convention in Hickory will be here very soon. The members of the Catawba Rescue Association have been working very hard all year to make sure that the convention is a success. If it is to be a success, our members need to participate.

Our scholarship program continues to receive excellent news coverage and the recipients are very pleased. The "thank you" letters that we have received from the recipients are a reminder of the good work that is being done throughout the State by all the members of the Association. It is you that have made the Association.

The Benevolent Brotherhood continues to gain new members, but we are still a long way from having the majority of our membership as members. Each squad or department should provide membership in the Brotherhood as a fringe benefit to their members.

    SEE YOU IN HICKORY!

    VICE-COMMANDER'S MESSAGE

Convention time is here. I hope to see a large number of you in Hickory. We all realize that everyone cannot attend because some have to stay and cover the counties and communities we live in. The host squads and many individuals who are working on this year's convention assure there is going to be activities for everyone to enjoy. Also, the newly elected Area Directors will begin their new two year terms. If you felt the election process was a good change, then tell the Credentials Committee. If you can think of some change that might make the process better, then put your idea in writing and submit it to the Committee for review.

    Remember to join the Brotherhood.
